Renew Newcastle as featured on last night’s edition of Stateline, NSW. According to host Quentin Dempster’s intro, Renew Newcastle has “recycled, reinvigorated, revived, revitalised, recreated and reimagnied the city.” I’ll take that!
Frankly this was the last thing i did before i got home from my epic adventures in Ireland, UK, Germany, Dubai, Abu Dhabi and Beijing and the TINA weekend of events in Newcastle. Frankly, i was out on my feet when we filmed this and i think it kinda shows. But it’s a great story on the project.

Smart, enriching, empowering … brilliant. Only hope it’s not so successful a venture that the artists are all pushed out by mainstream commercial enterprises.
Onya!
ps Marcus, your invitation to kick things off points to the form below when it is actually above.
Another ps – I don’t know Newcastle well but I will always associate it with the (rather apt, given the theme of renewal) experience of running into John Butler in an op shop.
Keep the good work up Marcus.
Many talk, but you actually fly the flag for Newcastle.
Maybe next time drag the cameras to Honeysuckle or Wickham:)
