A new version of the Renew Newcastle project map is now out. It’s starting to look quite cluttered!
I’m going up to Newcastle again this weekend to celebrate the launch of another group of new projects. This new group of creative projects includes: the Biami Mara indigenous art gallery; a landscape photography gallery; Susy Pow’s great zine shop; the headquarters and display space for Newcastle Fashion Week; a tea house art gallery; a dance costuming workshop; a retail gallery selling locally made, hand made art, clothing, jewellery and household objects; the newly reinvented gallery space of the ARThive collective; and the individual working studios of 7 visual artists.
Amazingly, this group of projects will bring the total number of projects initiated by Renew Newcastle since February to THIRTY SIX. That number seems almost ridiculous — i find it difficult to believe that we’ve managed to get so far so quickly — yet it is actually true.
