It’ts been a little quiet around here as i’ve been on the road for most of the last couple of weeks. For anyone who might be interested i’ve written a little opinion piece in todays’ Sydney Morning Herald. The themes will probably be a little familiar to anyone who regularly reads the posts here. But as the SMH still woefully lacks any kind on comment function on its web site feel free to leave responses here.

Hi Marcus
Was sent your article in SMH this morning and would like to upload it to our Artists Alliance website for members to read. Is this okay with you?
Your positive vision for the art movement during hard economic times is refreshing. I live in Newcastle and applaud your efforts to bring art, colour and life to our neglected city. It’s precisely what the old girl needs. That your muse appears to be Melbourne’s laneways-driven revitalisation is even more exciting. Bring it on!
Judith that is fine by me. Please go ahead.
great article, thanks…will pass it around. Would like to knoe more about your work putting artist in vacant spaces, we are trying to start that up in Jacksonville FL. Will try to contact you later for more info.
Marcus, you might be interested to see this in the NYT on $100 homes in Detroit being colonised by artists.

I just blogged about something that might interest you: artists and environmentalists buying up dirt cheap property in Detroit.
the Detroit example is really interesting although very different circumstances to the ones we have here (so far). @Dolf i’d be very keen to hear about what you’re up to in Jacksonville.
