I was googling myself this morning – as i should confess that i can be a bit prone to doing at times – and i noticed the strangest thing. Someone has bought my name!
Google “marcus westbury” yourself and see.
Sadly, it hasn’t been bought by a global a talent agency, or by that Nigerian prince’s family that keeps emailing me, or by Cleo mag to promote the forthcoming “Australia’s most elligible bachelor” edition (which i am yet to receive my invite to appear in) but by the ABC.
They’ve obviously bought the search term “marcus westbury” to promote their new I-view streaming video service.
Weird.

Well, those ABC lawyers whom you were surprised to find thought it was OK to air the mashups/remix episode in Australia obviously have a sanguine view about the corporation buying up google adwords of persons who may have thought they had the right to their own name, for their own purposes. But it’s OK, you probably agreed to it in the fine print of that contract you signed.
